The message says "There are no versions of this theme for your browser." although the compatibility key lists Mozilla 1.4, and I do use Mozilla 1.4.

This theme needs to be like ClassicEnhanced with its menus. Menu spacing for bookmarks should be much narrower so a lot more can be fit. ClassicEnhanced may be ugly but I've decided to stick with it because it's much more practical now with that spacing.

I got the message that "There are no versions of this theme for your browser." I used to have it on Netscape 7.0, and now it does not work.
It is a very attractive theme. I miss it.

Just wanted to pass along that eskimo is an out dated, no longer used, word. It comes from the Cree, and it is an insult. The Cree insulted the people living further north of them as "fish eaters." No one, who would be called Eskimo, would use the term. It is essentially the same as calling people from Taiwan rice-eater, or calling people . . . well I'm sure you can come up with examples on your own. I know it's not your intent, and it's just k'ule, but you can come up with yer oWn x-samples.

The word Eskimo is widely used in many languages and I don't feel any discrimination by using it. Of course, it's discribing a habit our ancestor found most outstanding and it might have been insulting. Such discussion is not vey useful, I think. People have found many other ways to discriminate nowadays. The alternative word Inuit just means "human being", that's boring. And how about the eskimo dog should it be renamed?
I just love the word Eskimo - sounds cool.
Make peace, love and keep on Eskimoing!

I like this theme very much -- inventive and fun.
Is there a way to put the Home Button in the Navigation Toolbar?
The Home Button is the only thing I use on the Personal Toolbar but not quite worth losing all the real estate that the PT eats up.
Thanks!

I love this theme and have used through several upgrades. However, it has some idiosynchrocies that showed up with 1.7.
The spacing is off on the buttons and the Back button list widget is hidden.
Are you going to update?
Thank you for the best theme.

Hey they/we are Inuits, eskimo is just a word for raw meet eaters, in which some us them/us don't do. And what's with the igloo? Do you even know what an igloo is used for (Fishing, duh). I find it disciminating, and you probably don't because you're not an Inuit. Of course those not of the race wouldn't find it discriminating. Many quht’ana like other belgansinas are mistaken about the Inuit way of life.

Dear All,
thanks for using Eskimo theme!
Unfortunately, I don't have time much, so I guess I won't change the theme to Netscape. I should rather try to do a Firefox Version which is much more popular now. If you need the suite try mozilla.Keep on eskimoing! :-)

Dear Shannon, thanks for your comment. I had those discussions before. Anyway, words are used differently all over the world. "Drug" in America is simply medicine, in Europe illegal "dope".
The fact that eskimo comes from the Algonquin language meaning raw-meat-eater is widly known but not proven. Scientists believe it originates in the Montagnais language word ayaskimju, which means "snowshoe-plaiter". Some people in Alaska call themselfes Eskimo, still. Please find a very detailed description here:However, there are so many, long-noses, potato-eater, rice-queens out there in this world, I can't count. I have more international friends than of my own country. I eat raw pork or pig as well and I love sushi....
It depends how you do respect other people and a hissed "Inuit!" form a hostile person may sound more offending than a lovey "Eskimooo..."
I thought I did a lovely theme. :-)Best regards
Andre :-)

"Eskimo" means "Eaters of raw fish" and is offensive.Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10 - [24] Submitted by: joydip on Friday 26th November 2004 at 09:06 -0500

I am new to Mozilla and Firefox, so am enjoying it. I had to add my 2 cents to this thread- I can't help myself. I am Inupiaq Eskimo, living here in Anchorage, AK. Yes, we still call ourselves Eskimos- the misconception comes in when people assume that all Alaska Natives are Eskimos- which is untrue. There are 3 groups of Eskimos in Alaska- Inupiaq (along the upper West Coast and across the top over into Canada) Yup'ik (along the West coast and into the Interior of Alaska a little) and Siberian Yup'ik (kind of in the bottom left corner of AK.) In addition to Eskimos, there are Athabascan Indians (which then breaks into other subgroups of Indians- Tlingit and Haida...etc) and Aleut/Alutiiq people along the Aleutian chain and along the bottom of Alaska. I am not offended by the use of the word Eskimo to describe this theme, because I feel it is used in a positive way. It wasn't used derogatorily, and i don't think that was the intention. So I'm not the be-all, end-all for Eskimo people and what they might think on this theme, but maybe that'll clarify a little from someone "on the other side." :-) As for the whole "eater-of-raw fish" theory being offensive... we do eat raw fish. So why would it be offensive? Take care all!
Jorie
PS- for anyone interested in the different Alaska Native groups in Alaska, a good resource is the Alaska Native Heritage Center website:

Me again. Here's that link:
The igloo. Not just for fishing, also for fighting, games, eating in, sleeping in sometimes. Not the only type of dwelling used by pre-contact Alaska Natives, it all depends on the part of Alaska. Of course, now we're living in townhouses. HAHAHA
The word Eskimo literally means "Real Person."
Okay enough already. I like this theme- thank you Andre for creating it!!!!
