On the whole, It's pretty nice. Thanks for minimizing the space allocated for controls, and making the icons as small as you did.

I only wish it didn't look so Windows-ish. I would have preferred it if the more legible mac-font GENEVA, which is designed to be read on-screen, would appear in all of the menus and controls. The Windows-ish Arial, or Helvetica, or whatever it is you used, bitmaps poorly, and is too "round" for my tastes.

Couldn't you make it pick up my Font preferences?

[2] Submitted by: Alfred Kayser on Thursday October 17th 2002

To change the font used in the theme, put the following in userChrome.css (in the chrome folder of the Profile folder): window, dialog, wizard, page { font-family: Geneva, sans-serif !important; }

Are you going to do a version for Phoenix? (Please!)

[4] Submitted by: haveblue1001 on Friday October 18th 2002

Still one of my very favorite Mozilla themes. I love the extra onscreen real estate it gives me. I'm glad the 1.0 version is still available, too. I like 1.1, but I prefer the original.

[5] Submitted by: Hamal on Sunday November 3rd 2002

I'm another who would love to see a port of this theme to Pheonix 0.4.

I've always respected this skin, as (and I'll quote myself), "A webbrowser is for viewing webpages, not toolbars".

I believe that pheonix and littlemozilla would be the perfect combination to achieve total web browser minimization.

Good work :)

I managed to install the wrong lilmozilla and now I
can not get rid of it. How do I get rid of that?
The uninstall theme button doesn't work.
Why does mozilla let the wrong version get installed
in the first place? And last why is it so hard to figure
out which version is needed? Why use icons? Why not just say which version of this theme works with which version of the browser? Why obfuscate things further?

[7] Submitted by: John Candy on Thursday November 7th 2002

Re-installing mozilla fixed things.
BTW I do like the theme. One more question why doesn't
the theme effect the mail client?

Very great Theme.
The only thing I didn't like is the looking of the tabs, they are imho a little bit to high.

[11] Submitted by: EggZ on Monday November 11th 2002

The preview image http://themes.mozdev.org/images/littlemozilla-large.png doesn't look anything like what my LittleMozilla theme for Phoenix .4 looks like. Mine looks like little kid Fisher Price icons. Did the theme get overhauled since the picture was taken? I want it to look all "java-ee" like the original Mozilla milestones (M4-M8). Like Robert Kaiser's "Early Blue", that's what the png looks like! Helpo, i'm confused. http://themes.mozdev.org/themes/earlyblue.html

[12] Submitted by: Tim Connor on Tuesday November 12th 2002

Awesome theme. Thanks a lot for doing this. The inability to get the chrome compact enough was actually one of the last things holding me back from switching back to Netscape/Mozilla. The garishness of the latest version that works for Netscape 7, 1.1, might actually be good - it could inspire me to get off my but and come up with my own. If not I will certainly keep using this theme, my favorite so far.

[13] Submitted by: Arjun on Wednesday November 13th 2002

For me it looks a bit too garish and technicolor - maybe if I was still in Playskool I would like this one....

[14] Submitted by: morph on Saturday November 16th 2002

I installed this theme, but using it I could not install any other themes! Clicking on the 'install' link for eg. Luna theme brought up the 'save/open' dialog rather than installing it.
I have since deleted this theme.

[15] Submitted by: morph on Saturday November 16th 2002

I don't like the menus. They look too blocky and cramped, like some old relic from X11 and motif. That was probably what turned me off this skin (and install bug above)

I thought LittleMozilla 1.0 was great and I've used it for a long time on my notebook.
I'm very dissappointed to see that v1.2 has new ugly, garish icons, they clash badly with anything but perhaps WinXP.
Please please could we have LittleMozilla for SkinVersion 1.2 with the look of the LittleMozilla 1.0 theme?

[17] Submitted by: Maverynthia on Monday December 2nd 2002

I use Version 1.2a on my computer and Downloaded the older version that's advertised the light blue and cool Icons. I install Phoenix and get the same theme only to find it's ugly and FisherPrice like...lest to say I uninstalled the theme immediately.

[18] Submitted by: Alfred Kayser on Tuesday December 3rd 2002

For Phoenix fans: go to:
http://texturizer.net/phoenix/themes.html
You will find over there:
LittlePhoenix (which is LittleMozilla stripped to Phoenix only)
MicroPhoenix (which is LittlePhoenix, but with the 'older' icons)

Updates of all my themes to follow soon!

[20] Submitted by: ChaosMt on Friday December 20th 2002

This is still one of the best themes out there for those of us who are acccurate with the mouse. I appreciate the extra screen space and I actually like the "blocky" nature of the buttons. For example, your either mouse-over the back botton or the back-history. With the round buttons there's these fuzzy areas that don't work and cause misclicks. In other words, even for being small, it's still pretty useful

I am running Netscape 7 on Solaris (long story) and I was hoping to get the home button to display on the navigation bar as I used to have under mozilla. Could some one enlighten me on how to do that? Thank you.

[21] Submitted by: Paula on Saturday December 28th 2002

This looks good..........but......why is it not the same as the preview? mine isnt purplish & sparkling......just cream???? help !!!

[22] Submitted by: Peter F on Wednesday January 1st 2003

This used to be my favourite, but when I upgraded mozilla
to version 1.2 and downloaded the upgraded theme, it does
not look the same. Where is the cool red star in the lower left corner? Why does it have to be saturated blue colors everywhere.

[23] Submitted by: Gary on Saturday January 4th 2003

On the one for Mozilla 1.2, the status bar on the bottom is too thick.

[24] Submitted by: Phil on Monday January 20th 2003

I also think LittleMozilla is the best theme out there -- I for one don't mind the new icons (although I wouldn't care if they were reverted back to the LilMoz 1.0 look, either).

I have one problem with version 1.2 -- I'm running on a Linux box, and when I'm composing a message, all of the icons on the text-formatting toolbar are identical (the "boldface" B) ... I'm using Mozilla version 1.3a, but I've seen the same problem with all versions of Mozilla from 1.2 up.

[25] Submitted by: PC on Thursday January 30th 2003

MicroPhoenix is great. The MicroMozilla version crashed my browser (1.2.1).

It would be nice to have MicroMozilla for the latest version of Mozilla.

The colors of Little Mozilla 1.0 are nicer.

[26] Submitted by: John on Saturday February 1st 2003

I would like the home button to be placed on the navigation toolbar(cos I usually hide the Personal toolbar).

Also, the colour scheme of the original little mozilla was nicer, and I'd like it to be made available on later versions(since the colours of later versions have become a bit garish for my taste).

Can the location combo be placed onto the wasted space to the right of the menus? - and this reclaimed space be used to put in a few more buttons for adjusting font size etc.

Is it possible to slim down the size even more. Anyway this is my favourite theme, because its the smallest, and one of the first places I go when installing Mozilla is to get this theme, and reclaim some screen space.

[27] Submitted by: PC on Tuesday February 11th 2003

I tried to install "MicroMozilla" from:
http://www.geocities.com/alfredkayser/mozilla/themes.htm
and I got a 511KB file with the colors of LittleMozilla 1.1
This must be a mistake. I thought that MicroMozilla has the nice colors of LittleMozilla 1.0

I do not use except two themes. MicroPhoenix and "Modern" on Mozilla since MicroMozilla is not available.

[28] Submitted by: Miri on Thursday February 13th 2003

If this looked on my screen like it looks in the screenshot above, I might like it, but your version for mozilla 1.2.1 is garish playskool madness to me. I love the idea of reducing the territory occupied by controls, but not at the expense of my eyes.

OTOH, if there were a version for 1.2.1 that looked like the screenshot above, I'd use it easily.

[29] Submitted by: Alfred Kayser on Thursday February 13th 2003

As you have seen, I've switched over to a new look for LittleMozilla 1.2 and higher.
Real soon now a 'MicroMozilla' with the old look will be released, as more people complained about the new look.
I'm not sure yet, whether the blueish, starry sky will return in MicroMozilla, so let me know about it.

[34] Submitted by: Dave on Sunday February 16th 2003

Hello

I'm not sure, if this is the right place to report a problem, but i didn't find a better place so far.

The "column selector" (little blue square in the upper right corner of for example the mail/news message summary window) is not working. I can left-click on it, but nothing happens.

If i switch back to the "Classic" or the "Modern" theme, it works as expected. If i click on it, a menu appears allowing me to make a checkmark for the column entries i want to have displayed.

Am i missing something here or is this really a bug?

Thanks

[35] Submitted by: Alfred Kayser on Monday February 17th 2003

One MicroMozilla with Blueish Blue Sky coming up.

As far as the 'column selector': it works for me.
May be deleting 'XUL.*' from your profile directory, and re-installing of LittleMozilla will help.

Is it possible to change the Search Results background color?

[39] Submitted by: Bill O'Brien on Wednesday April 30th 2003

It's okay... I found the answer...
To get rid of the Red background on links in Search Results just put the following in userChrome.css

/* class for text with a 'link' appearance */
.text-link {
background-color: transparent !important;
}

I'm extremely fond of this theme; I've been using it exclusively for months.

One minor complaint: On my Mac, the scroll arrows are at the top and bottom of the window. On some other themes, they are both at the bottom (which I very much prefer). How can I modify this theme to get both arrows at the bottom of the scrollbar?

I tried this, putting the resulting userContent.css file in various "chrome" folders I found, but particularly in the one that holds the "little Mozilla" theme. None of them changed the location of the scroll arrows.

Looking through the .css files of themes that have the arrows top-and-bottom, and those that have both at bottom, I can find no differences that should "make a difference". How do these themes position the arrows?

Any more suggestions?

Yes, as MultiZilla really implements its own tabs (and the correspondings skinning), LittleMozilla did previously attempt to also skin MultiZilla.
However, installing MultiZilla means that it messes up the standard Mozilla config, I am hesitating keep skinning MultiZilla, and planning to drop support completely. (Note however, that the icons for MultiZilla, came from my theme)

I installed Moz 1.7, then Multizilla v1640, then this theme - and the QPrefs button in the nav toolbar is not skinned, hence it is still big and Modern. I disabled it and the toolbar shrank. I dont know if Multizilla had anything to do with this.
Great skin! I like small. Now, it would be nice to have:
1) the option to remove the text from the nav toolbar buttons.
2) the name of the toolbar appear in tiny print inline with the little blue line that is drawn when the toolbar is minimized (so I can tell which one is which when minimized)

This theme is simply the best on account of what I may call its 'philosophical superiority'--that, as other users have mentioned, web browsers are for browsing.

I echo another user's comments that it would be nice to merge the browsing buttons, url field, and menus (file, edit, etc) on one line. Sadly, you can do this easily on internet explorer, but I have yet to see a mac app that is capable of doing so.
