Some popups doesn't work with the theme (mozilla 1.3). They hide when you try to go over them with the mouse (i.e. Color Chooser in mail reply color, in the Preferences Menu; Fields of the Messenger Window, the blue square on rigth top of the message list).
- [31] Submitted by: Lee on Tuesday April 1st 2003

In Mail, on folder list, the message count numbers in the right-hand column (usually "Total" or "Size" columns, depending on what you select to show) are too close to the right margin (where the scrolling bar is). The numbers are partially covered by the scroll bar area.

Here's another one, in a Mail Compose window, in the addressing area, the pull-downs (pressing down arrow next to the 'man with the hat' :)) to change the address from "To" to "CC" are blank (can't see the choices of To: cc: bcc:)

I can not reproduce your problems with the popups, with the current Mozilla builds (2003032908) and the current NautiPolis (March 28). Which platform (Linux, W2K, etc) do you use, and which version of Mozilla?
For the message counts, this is an Mozilla tree/list issue, which is fixed also in later Mozilla builds.
First try the latest Mozilla build, with the latest version of Nautipolis (March 28). - [34] Submitted by: Lee on Thursday April 3rd 2003

Noticed that DOM Inspector allows to minimize (turn the yellow switch on the left) two toolbars on the last line one by one (where you can choose view modes), but there is no way to open any of them again except closing the DOM Inspector and reopening again.
The address line and File Edit Search, etc menu-bars can be switched back correctly by turning the associated switch again.

i like it, but it acts slower than the "walnut" theme...
personal toolbar buttons are slow to initially appear and
closing out of any window hangs for a second then closes.
the very similar walnut theme doesn't do this- it is much
quicker acting. using mozilla 1.3sticking with walnut!!
- [41] Submitted by: Alfred Kayser on Monday April 14th 2003

As most of the themecode between Walnut and NautiPolis are shared, my guess is that the 'alpha-transparent' shading of the buttons cause the extra delay.

any item in the menu "view"-"message body as", the
scrollbar is working properly, but when closing
and reopening it the problem is still there ...Same problem with Wallnut.

Try Mozilla 1.4 when it is released. Nautipolis
uses alpha transparent png's and mng's a lot, which used

Ok this is really something; I have had probably 100 crashes with Mozilla 1.3 alfa, beta, 1.4rc1 and now with 1.4rc2. And now I have an idea of what goes on.
The themes 'NauiPolis 1.0' (which by the way is really nice) makes Mozilla crash. It happens only when using tabs, for instance I always get a crash when I open 1 or more tabs, no matter if I have other windows open or not (this is on win98). Sometimes the crash comes with the first tab, other times I can do a little surfing before it happens, but it really is consistant.
I will file it under my earlier id:

Yes! It does work now. But one thing is troublesome: how can it be that I have to press the red-frames link 'show all versions' before I in fact get the 'install it' button. I don't know if it's necessary, but I have been confused before where to click to get a theme here.
>Therefor a new version of NautiPolis is available: 1.4, where

Yes (at least for the USA, the rest is somewhat later).
But the real issue is that Mozilla has dropped support for MNG (for now, it may come back later).
For the 'show all versions' thing, I don't know what is happening. It does work for me. May be something is wrong with the 'browser sniffing' of mozdev?

SteveH,
Good news: NautiPolis now also supports Thunderbird
(and also MsnMsgr (goto msnmsgr.mozdev.org)).Note, this is the first theme which supports Mozilla,
FireBird, and ThunderBird all in one jarfile.Alfred.

Great skin! I was getting tired of teh Mozilla Modern, especially after seeing the sleek, XPish look of Thunderbird. Your theme had a great balance between flashy colors and icons, and yet soft colors that didn't grab my attention away from the web content. No problems installing/using it, but it would be a bit more convenient if the URL and googlebar, and text on browser, were a bit larger. Alfred Kayser, great job!

Had some problems with variable width fonts not being
displayed in the Mail application (the variable font
choice wasn't obeyed). If I changed the fixed width
fonts to Helvetica (for example), then the mail displayed
fine, but mail composition also used helvetica (not
what I want).Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624

I have the same problem as mentioned above. Some messages are displayed with fixed-width font, not with the one I had set in Preferences. Other messages are displayed they way they should be. My observation is that messages written in Mozilla look fine and those written in other applications are being displayed incorrectly.

I really like this theme but there seems to be a problem with it on Linux; with freetype enabled Mozilla hogs quite a bit of the system resources when used with this theme. On my 450Mhz K6-II it's pretty painful...I'm not sure if it's something peculiar to my system but could anybody else using Linux confirm this? I haven't had any problems with the other themes but then this is the only one that uses antialiased fonts.

I like this theme at lot. It's very space efficient, and reasonably unobtrusive (unlike most of the other themes). It shares many of the advantages of the (now seemingly sadly defunct) IE theme, but without the Microsoft stigma.
Some feedback though -- like Alma said in the previous message, you get black text on a dark blue background in some places for selected text. The right pane in the DOM inspector. The right pane (message list) in Mail&NewsGroups. In Download Manager, columns other than Name. In Certificate Manager, the Security Device column...
It seems like a very small (subtle) bug, but I can't find it (as I don't know Mozilla themes or skins).
If this problem were fixed, this theme would be Perfect.

This problem with the dark blue selected-message background obscuring the text is really a problem! It is nearly impossible for to read the black text.
In fact every mailbox EXCEPT the Inbox, which shows the subject as white text on the dark blue highlight, has the entire selected message information (or multiple messages, for that matter).
Other than this really pesky problem, Nautipolis is my favorite theme, but if this isn't corrected soon, I will have to abandon it and search for one where I can read my mailbox listings! Sorry, my previous inadvertently deleted some lines:
In fact every mailbox or newsgroup box EXCEPT the Inbox has ALL the text of selected message(s) listings obscured by the nearly unreadable black text on dark blue "highlight". Only the Inbox changes the Subject to white text on selected messages, which should be true for ALL the columns and every mailbox folder.
Please fix this so we can continue to enjoy an otherwise superior theme!Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530 - [19] Submitted by: David R on Monday June 7th 2004

Excellent looking theme. Seems to work pretty well with Mozilla 1.7. The only problem I've noticed is in Mail & Newsgroups, where the title of the selected message is hard to read because it doesn't change color. The hilighting is dark blue and the text is black. It would be great if this could be fixed in the next release.

To make a lousy situation short, by the time I opened Mozilla up again, all of my extensive bookmark list was wiped out!!! What a bunch of carp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have spent all sorts of time trying to find my bookmarks, but apparently the new theme can't handle the change. Thanks, Mozilla!!!!!!!

Odd, I read that back in December people were installing v1.8 of this them with no problem. I tried installing today and I have the same problem as Jason (response #49). This has been one of my favorite themes, but I moved away from it when the message highlighting issue arose. Now that it has been fixed, I wanted to give it another try - alas, not at this time. Otherwise, a nice change of pace.

The black text/blue background colour problem is solved with release 1.8 from Alfreds homepage (that has switched to home.unet.nl/alfredkayser/mozilla/nautipolis.htm ), but unfortunately the message-overview is striped in white/gray now, which makes the hole thing quite unclear for the eye...
besides this little problem: very nice work!
